Fort Fisher Engagement Session

My beautiful baby sister is getting married, and we had the best time taking their photos. This Fort Fisher engagement session felt relaxed, joyful, and full of moments that were easy to capture. Being able to photograph someone I love always feels special, but this evening was especially meaningful.

Fort Fisher is one of our favorite places for sessions because it offers so much variety. The grassy hills, ancient oaks, and rocky coastline make the area look almost cinematic. Every direction has a new texture or backdrop, which gives couples so many options in one simple location. The light shifts beautifully here too, which is a big reason we come back again and again.

We also lucked out with the weather. A warm 75-degree breeze and soft coastal light created the perfect setting for photos. Living on the coast has its perks, and this day reminded me of that. The calm water, gentle wind, and warm light made everything feel peaceful and natural.

As we explored the winding paths and open shoreline, these two fell into an easy rhythm together. They laughed, talked, and were completely at ease. That made the entire session feel effortless. Their connection brought so much life to each spot we visited. That is the magic of a Fort Fisher engagement session—there is always room for real, genuine moments.

What made this session even more special was the timing. We photographed them almost exactly one year before their wedding day. It felt like the start of a very exciting countdown. Watching my sister with someone who makes her so happy made this experience even sweeter.
